Attorney Allison Gurley focuses her practice on representing insurance companies and their insureds in the defense of civil litigation across Massachusetts. She has extensive experience handling cases in all state and federal courts, including the Massachusetts Superior, District, and Federal District Courts, and has successfully argued before the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
Attorney Gurley’s work includes the defense of claims involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, construction site incidents, and general negligence, as well as complex property and coverage disputes. She is also regularly retained by insurers to provide advice and representation in bad faith and coverage matters under G.L. c. 93A and c. 176D.
In addition to her coverage and liability defense practice, Attorney Gurley maintains a robust subrogation practice, representing insurers and third-party administrators in all aspects of subrogation and recovery throughout Massachusetts. She works closely with insurers and recovery specialists to efficiently evaluate liability, manage risk, and resolve subrogation and contribution claims across the Commonwealth. Her deep understanding of insurance operations and litigation strategy allows her to deliver results that are both legally sound and cost-effective.
Recognized for her skill and results in the courtroom, Attorney Gurley has earned a statewide reputation for trial success and a practical, disciplined approach to litigation that aligns with the needs of insurers and claims professionals.
In addition to her litigation practice, Attorney Gurley serves as Chair of the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) seminar, “Handling Motor Vehicle Accident Cases,” where she educates attorneys and insurance professionals on current trends and best practices in Massachusetts tort and insurance law. She also lectures and presents to insurance organizations on developments critical to the industry.

Prior to forming Harding Gurley LLP, Allison Gurley was a partner in the insurance defense practice at Weston Patrick, P.A. Before joining Weston Patrick, P.A., Attorney Gurley defended medical providers in medical malpractice litigation and practiced health care law before regulatory boards, agencies and committees.
Attorney Gurley began her career as a litigator at a small general practice law firm in Boston, Massachusetts where she handled a diverse caseload of civil litigation.
